How To Start Your Camp Fire With A Lemon
When you’re starting your camp fire without using a flame one trick you may want to try is using a lemon fire starter. When assembled correctly you can use a lemon to create a mini battery, and just as on a battery if you touch negative and positive together you get a spark. This spark is the start of your camp fire. Here’s how you can turn your house hold lemon into a fire starting tool. Watch the original video on how to use a lemon to start your fire here.
You Will Need
- 1 Lemon
- 6 Copper Pins
- 6 Zinc Nails
- Wire
- Steel Wool
- Something To Light
- Toilet Paper
- Leaves or Foliage
- Dead Grass
Step 1
Use your copper pins to poke into the lemon in a line. Make sure you leave about 1cm of space in between each pin.
Step 2
Take your zinc nails and poke them into the lemon in the same fashion. Again give about 1cm of space in between each of your zinc nails.
Step 3
Next grab your wire and make small sections of stripped wire to connect your copper pins and zinc nails. When you connect these with wires you want to connect the first copper pin to the second zinc nail. Doing this will allow for 1 copper pin, and 1 zinc nail to be free with no wires attached yet.
Step 4
On the open copper pin and zinc nail connect a longer wire that will be used to rub together. These wires should be cut about the same size in length and should not be stripped entirely. Once you connect these last 2 wires you’re ready to start your fire.
Step 5
Put your steel wool down on the ground, and pile light flammable objects on top of it. In the video toilet paper was used, but you could use leaves, dead grass, paper, or anything that will catch on fire pretty easily. Once you something to burn on your steel wool, just take your two end wires and rub them together. The spark it creates will start your fire right up.
