- Adventure Bound – Van Buren, Ohio
This is a chain of campgrounds, so if you enjoy the one in Ohio, you can find a similar one elsewhere. Features of the campground are a dog park, swimming pool, jumping pillows, playground, swimming pond, fishing, basketball, mini golf, shuffleboard, horseshoes, game room, and dance hall. It is situated next to Van Buren State Park, with miles of walking trails, disc golf, and a place to keep horses.
Bingo takes place on Fridays and Saturdays and special events are planned throughout the season. Outdoor pavilions and indoor rooms are available for reservation.
A special deal is available from the campground for new stays. 25% off is offered on some of their camping sites.

2. Sun Valley – Harrod, Ohio ( 9 miles outside of Lima, Ohio)
Sun Valley is a small and very friendly park. Recreational features include fishing, swimming, shuffleboard, horseshoes and bring your own golf cart to explore the 40 acres. The laundry facilities feature large capacity washers and dryers. The reasonable camping rates range between $40 to $50 a night with special prices for weekly or monthly stays. There are 242 sites and all RV lots have full hookups. In addition, seasonal and residential sites are available. Reservations can be made by calling 419-648-2235, or by using the reservation form.
3. Huggy Bear – Middle Point, Ohio
The motto here is “Where the Fun Never Ends”. With the long list of features and activities, it would be hard not to have fun. A swimming pool, a splash pad, a pond for fishing or swimming, mini-golf, playgrounds, a concert stage, golf cart trails, (you can rent a golf cart), horseshoes, sports fields, and courts are available. There are laundry facilities and recreation buildings. Many themed weekends are featured, along with weekly events. Saturday events feature a fishing derby, morning crafts, bingo, and cornhole.
The rates are affordable, from $35 to $40 a night, depending on amenities. The campground is well kept and beautiful.
A feature you will not find at every campground is their restaurant located right on the campgrounds. You will find everything from starters, salads, pizza, sandwiches to large tenderloin, and ice cream treats. All are available as eat-in or take-out.
Huggy Bear also prides itself in “giving back”. They hold a yearly fundraiser benefitting St. Jude. It includes food vendors, concert stage, beer tent with a showcase of the bands, raffles & giveaways. 4. Mohican State Park – Loudonville, Ohio
Mohican gives you limitless opportunity to explore the great outdoors with its 1,110 acres of natural wonder. Features are hiking trails, mountain bike trails, bridle trails, canoeing, fishing and picnicking. Within the facility are basketball, comfort station, camp store, dump station, flush toilets, hiking trail, laundromat, marina, naturalist programs, picnic tables, ranger station, shelter house, swimming, showers volleyball, and drinking water.

5. Clay’s Park – N. Lawrence, Ohio
Clay’s Park is 500 acres of waterpark and campgrounds. Features of the campground are kids splash pad, water park playground, 10-acre swimming lake, classic barrel roll, dual zip lines, water slides, ring swings, inflatables, kayaks & canoes, stand-up paddleboards, playgrounds, miniature golf, kids activity barn, sand volleyball, basketball, giant foosball, concessions, and a live concert stage. There is always activity at Clay’s Park.
RV camping sites are from the range of $55 to 105 a night, depending on the type of pull-thru or back- in sites and whether water, electric, and sewer are offered, as well as the size of the site and the day of week or holiday. Seasonal camping is also available.
6. Cedar Point’s Lighthouse Point – Sandusky, Ohio
Cedar Point has long been known as the amusement park destination for family fun. To add to your family fun, you can camp at the luxurious Lighthouse Point. Discounted tickets and early admission to some rides are available as a package, and you can walk to the park. Besides the thrills of the amusement park, other features are a pool, laundry, Lake Erie beach, adjacent to mini-golf, go-carts, 18-acre waterpark, fishing, boating, game room, parasail, and jet-ski rentals, planned activities, year-round camping, Wi-Fi and pets allowed.
