Grand Canyon The American Beauty
When it comes to camping destinations in the United States, the Grand Canyon immediately springs to mind. Did you know the Las Vegas Review-Journal just ranked the Grand Canyon number three on its list of the “25 coolest places in the US to visit with the kids”? Now is the perfect time to take the whole family camping at the grand canyon. The Las Vegas Review-Journal writes:
The Grand Canyon should be on every family’s travel itinerary because it will make such a big impression on both kids and adults. The awe-inspiring 277-mile long, 1-mile deep canyon carved by the Colorado River is one of the most popular national parks.
What’s more, campsites are relatively cheap ranging from $18 to $25 a night, making this a relatively affordable vacation for a family on a budget. If you’d like to camp on the South Rim, the Mather Campground is open all year around and accommodates tent camping, or you might try the Desert View Campground, which is open from April through October. If you’d like to take your RV, check out Trailer Village also on the South Rim. If you’re thinking of visiting the North Rim, the North Rim Campground is open during the summer. There are also many additional campgrounds nearby but not actually located inside the National Park.
The Grand Canyon is truly one of America’s natural treasures. Now’s the perfect time to take the kids on a camping trip they will remember for the rest of their lives. If you’re looking for a place to take the RV, or just need an awesome place to visit you should add this destination to your list.
