The tent’s pitched and you’re enjoying hot chocolate with your friends, while toasting marshmallows over an open fire. The crisp desert night air starts to swirl; the wind picking up. You’ve been to Joshua tree four times now and love it, but would like to explore other camping destinations in the United States. There are so many camping locales to see!

  1. Sequoia and Kings Canyon in California: Standing next to a fragrant, giant  sequoia is the best way to watch your worries swiftly fade away. The beauty of Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks is astounding. Tourists visit these parks from all around the world. What’s the draw? Just a few things:The vast canyons, rushing waterfalls, and lush, green meadows. What to do? Do you like hiking? There’s plenty of beautiful, winding paths to explore, rocks to climb, and there’s even horseback riding!

  2. Glacier National Park in Montana: This park is great for camping, biking, backpacking and hiking.  Established in 1985, “Going to the sun road” is now a historic landmark. It’s a 50 mile highway with two lanes that goes from east to west of the park. There are plenty of spots to stop and take pictures along your route. There are 734 trails in Glacier National Park that are beautifully landscaped and “worth exploring.”

  3. Olympic National Park in Washington: Everything is green here since Washington rain is a regular occasion. To travel around the park, you can drive 30 miles but hiking is hands down the best choice. There are 910 camping sites. If you’re not a fan of camping in a tent there are lodges to stay in. Come to the Quinault Rain Forest where you can see “the largest Sitka spruce tree in the world!” Open year round, fees for “camping range from $15 to $22 per night depending on season and location. A wilderness camping permit ($5 per person per night) [is a requirement] for back-country camping.”
